Sorry guys that I didn't get back to you's sooner but its the piston sleeve o-rings leaking coolent, I thought it mite have been the injector sleeves this time as I had replaced the sleeves, o-rings, pistons & bearings, do to eletrolysis 24 years ago 4500 hrs and only put 4000 hrs since, I used a Agco o-haul kit at the time and faithfully change anti-freeze every two-three years.

Wood BatWing 315 gear box teardown
Blade / hub unit came off easy.. Nice design. Got the box out no problem ( this is the one that has the square drive shaft thru the center of the box).. Took side plate off and pulled the bevel gear and shaft. The PINION is looks and wiggles up and down 1/8 inch. Pulled the seal off the end and i can see the sleeve that sets up against the bearing.

New seal on old shafts
One trick I read (and did) was to slide a couple 'fat' O-rings onto the shaft between the seal and where the oil comes from. Since the O-rings are tight onto the shaft oil can't travel past them. As 'rings', oil flies off,so agan, can't get past the seal. Whether you can add 1,2 or none depends on shaft setup and spacing.

Dr. Allis, are you making parts for these as Kit? I'd be interested in purchasing the appropriate gearing. I'm going to start the process of replacing my 226 cu. in. engine with an Allis Chalmers 433T. That engine has a significantly higher "high idle", so additional lower gear ratios would be to my advantage.

any opinions about welding the larger PTO sleeve on my smaller shaft? I tried the thin slip-on sleeve but the holes didnt align correctly and the bolt i used wasnt very thick so the brush hog shaft pulled the sleeve off and whipped around and busted the u-joint. i bought the extended sleeve that fits over the smaller PTO shaft and then allows the larger brush hog to fit.

AC disc repair
I have an older 14' wide disc (not sure which model it is, no tag or marking) and I lost 1 gang. bearing holder and shaft broke. I like my older AC stuff but I'm having a hard time finding parts for this. Is it worth it to try and salvage or would I be better parting it out and find a different disc (tough to answer that)? The shaft is a 1" hex.
